Edit This is going to be the general breakdown of what the System Codex is.

Basically a cheese wheel. I'm kidding. Or am I?

System Codex will be limited to the game and how to play and general informational pieces. How to use the site itself will be a separate thing, but I need to link it here, too.

We are going to encourage use with discord. There are some good plugins, so we are going to make the discord mean something more than just a place to chat. It will also serve as a great way to advertise to each other without having to go through the motions of posting it in both places.
Edit This will be the game rules.
Edit How to register for the different groups. This might be a good place to shout out the more in depth forum guide when it is ready.
Edit System Connection
These users and accounts are part of the structure and staff of III.
ARCHI - The Architect of the III system. Serves as an in character faceless system admin for the network.
Cherry - Founder or whatever.
Mods - Probably won't start with mods since I hate to burden people with stuff I can do, but eventually people might be interested.

Unregistered Connection
The default group that all visitors are assigned to unless they're logged in.

Connection Processing
After registration, all accounts are placed in this group by default. From here, users will be able to choose from the following connections:

Core Connection
These are the the player accounts. Player accounts are optional and users are welcome to have as many player accounts as they would like in good faith. Abuse will not be tolerated.

Node Connection
These are the NPC accounts. III has several NPC characters in play throughout the SolNex that players may use in their own threads. Players are welcome to create their own NPC accounts to assist with their plots. NPC accounts may be shared with other players and only have access to posting. They can not be used to private message. (Look into how that works in the settings when combined with subaccounts to make sure npc accounts wont give people access to all your subaccounts)

Insert list of npc characters. Players can not directly log into these accounts but they are welcome to reference them or recreate them as needed. Look into the option of allowing people to use them to post as a mask on top of their account instead of logging in, which won't be available for the player created npcs but would be handy. They would also be limited per forum so the npcs can only appear in appropriate places.

Client Connection
These are the character accounts. They will be designed to have all of the character information that people have come to expect for a rp.

Server Connection
These are the location accounts. These will be moderated so they need approval. Sever connections will act as plot hubs for players. This might be a space station or a ship crew. III will have several of these set up for canon plot locations as examples. Players that choose to create servers will have moderation powers over their forum, if eligible. Forum creation will require them to have so many other players with completed client connections ready to rp.
Edit While we will touch on Server Connections in the connection guide, this area will be used to dive into how to make a server and what it really means.

Link to the Server Directory
Edit This will be the settings section focusing on the different locations. Solar Nexus will be the name for the solar system, so this will include the planets and stations.
Edit The timeline, kinda rough because I don't want to think it out too hard. Will also have a conversion tool for those people who want to do time realistically in their games.
Edit This will be about currencies. It would be best to have special currencies for each planet and stuff. I will do this later though when I settle on all of the locations.
Edit Breakdown of the different guilds and how they function across the SolNex
Edit Explains how the eMag network works, including any kinds of delays.

The Interplanetary Information Index installed automated relay stations across the solar system initially to map the space for future exploration. During this time, charters were required to explore unvisited parts of space. It did not take long for the whole of the Sol System to be explored, and the relay stations were repurposed to create the eMag system grid.

As the need to communicate across vast distances grew with the colonization of the mining territory, the eMag system added large satellites that took advantage of planetary magnetospheres to create free communication pipelines. This meant a message could take days instead of months to reach across the SolNex. While still slow and subject to packet loss and surveillance, it is the most commonly used way to communicate.

Standard communication time for single eMag: 1-3 Sol Standard Days

Some of the relay stations were upgrades to quantum-tethered repeaters that allow for near instant synchronization of data across the SolNex, but access is limited to system communication, emergency frequencies, and anyone with enough credits to warrant access.

Premium communication time for single eMag: Near-instant

Several of the stations are in disrepair or simply forgotten in parts of space that were deemed less profitable to maintain a presence. The dead zones are safe havens for Space Cowboys and outlaws that want to escape the prying eyes on the vast grid.

For local communication such as on a station, vessel, or planet, eMags are usually instant, so long as the local relays are maintained. In some colonies, relays may not be available at all, in which case eMag communication is not possible. Some local areas may also have private relays with controlled, limited access.

Using a non-III approved device to access the eMag system is not permissible and may result in fines or mandatory labor services.
